Context
Manufacturing as One Connected Flow
For a glove manufacturer, material purchasing, order planning, cutting, sewing, finishing operations, warehouses and shipping all connect. Information moves between the ERP, spreadsheets, production documents and individual workstations.
Holík International needed to determine which areas would benefit most from digitization and how the changes should connect with both the ERP and the actual flow of material and work through production.
Analysis
Manufacturing, Warehousing and Shipping in Context
On site, we described the flow of materials and orders from receipt through production operations to the inspection and shipping of finished products.
We captured employee roles, the documents in use, data handoffs, warehouse movements, planning and technology dependencies. The result was a shared map of the current state and specific areas for further development.
Design
A Phased Digitization Roadmap
For manufacturing and warehousing, we prepared options for barcode and mobile terminal records, controlled warehouse locations, ongoing operation reporting and direct data entry into the ERP.
We separately defined options for supplier EDI, material and product traceability and the appropriate sequence of changes. The recommendations provided a basis for phasing and estimating the subsequent implementation.
Delivered Enhancement
Order Export for Production Planning
The analysis was followed by a specific K2 enhancement: exporting production orders to Excel according to planning requirements.
The function groups and sorts data for the production plan, separates weeks and highlights related orders. After user testing, we adjusted the selection logic, order and displayed information.
